I was born and raised in the Chicago area, studied fine arts at the School of the Art Institute, the American Academy of Art and Oakton Community College. I now reside in rural Wisconsin, where I am continually inspired by the ever-changing landscapes and the fascinating wildlife.

My interest in plein-air painting, with watercolors as my primary medium, began more than 30 years ago, thanks to the excellent mentoring of Bob Shepherd and an outstanding group of artists who carried on his tradition of painting on location. Most of each watercolor landscape is done on location.

I am a founding member and past-president of the Illinois Watercolor Society, and am currently affiliated with the Wisconsin Regional Artists Association and the Arts Alliance of Greater Lake Mills. Through KEY Artworks, I co-sponsor art exhibitions and publish an online newsletter about the arts. I also write newspaper articles about the Art Scene in south-central Wisconsin.
