On Labor Day weekend, Lake Mills celebrates its 175th Anniversary; the Arts Alliance of Greater Lake Mills has members’ paintings on exhibit at the Water House Cafe through September 5. There is also an exhibition of quilts at the Lake Mills Middle School through September 5, and a mosaic of photographs of Lake Mills is at the Arts Center.


The Black Hawk Artists have launched plans for their upcoming exhibition, opening November 5 at the Hoard Museum in Fort Atkinson.

Watercolor artist and professor emeritus of UW-Whitewater Amy Arntson announced publication of a new book, “Graphic Design Basics (6th edition).”

Margot Peters, also professor emeritus of UW-Whitewater, has published a new book, “Summers, a True Love Story,” and has another biography coming up on the life of poet Lorine Niedecker.
