Occasionally, I do a watercolor, an oil, or a pastel portrait on commission. I like to paint children and pets, working from sketches (hopefully done when the subject is reasonably at rest) and photographs, or photos alone if there is no chance of personal contact with the subject.

If you are curious as to cost, a 10" x 14" watercolor or pastel portrait can be done for around $350, plus matting and framing. An oil portrait would start at $600 for an 11"x14" canvas, plus frame. I will also do house portraits on commission--your home, summer home, farm, whatever is important to you. The cost is about the same as a 'people portrait,' about $350-$400 for an 11" x 14" watercolor. I'm very easy to work with, as long as you understand that I am a landscape artist and your house portrait will be done as a landscape, not an architectural rendering. Look over these recent commissions and make your own judgment. All commissioned house portraits come with twelve notecards with a replica of the painting, on classic laid or cambric card stock, including matching envelopes, at no additional charge.
