Featuring the artwork of J. Carolyn Liedtke
| I was born and raised in
the Chicago area, studied fine arts at the School of the
Art Institute, the American Academy of Art and Oakton
Community College. I now live in rural Wisconsin, where I
am continually inspired by the ever-changing landscapes
and the fascinating wildlife of this beautiful state. My interest in plein-air painting, with watercolors as my primary medium, began more than 30 years ago, thanks to the excellent teaching of Bob Shepherd and an outstanding group of artists who carried on his tradition of painting on location. Most of each of my watercolor landscapes is done on location. I am a founding member and past-president of the Illinois Watercolor Society, and am currently affiliated with the Wisconsin Regional Artists Association. Through Key Artworks, I sponsor regional exhibitions for amateur artists and conduct Plein-air Painting Workshops in the Madison area. I also write an Art Scene column for local newspapers on area artists. My studio/gallery is located at N7244 Manske Road, Lake Mills. I would love to show you more of my work.
